![]() ![]() Our used boat inventory can change at any time depending on the season. I continued that tradition by using Pioneer Hills to maintain the last boat that he purchased from them in 2014. ![]() My beloved father, Harry Powell, has now been gone five years and was a loyal customer. When I called to complain this afternoon after our life and death ordeal, I did not even get an apology. ![]() I am formally putting in a request/demand that it should be a policy for this business to NEVER leave a customer with a motor and no gasoline whatsoever as a matter of principle and safety! This is totally unacceptable and ridiculous. When we dropped the boat off in the fall we had at least a quarter tank of gas and the marina left us on empty minutes before the storm hit today. The marina, by policy and common sense, should not ever hand a boat to a customer without gas. I was by myself (yes I am a female, but have over 30 years experience operating boats) in the middle of the lake without gas, no motor, dead in the water and quickly drifting into a seawall in the middle of this storm which forced me to jump out of the boat in during the lightning, gusting winds and torrential rain to hold the boat manually until my other family members and husband could rescue me. Today I was delivered a boat on empty right before the storm you see below passed over Houghton Lake. #Truck dockview 16 full#Every year we have asked them to winterize and deliver the boat along with a full tank of gas. My father purchased three separate pontoons from them and we have stored all those boats every winter for the last 17 years. My father and I have been customers of this marina for over 17 years. To top it off I didn’t even receive an apology…□□□□□□ This is one extremely unhappy customer! You have failed us! So we did not leave it on empty! This will be the last year we store our boat with Pioneer Hills. When I called the marina to complain today, the service manager verified that we had at least a quarter tank of gas in the boat when it was picked up in the fall for storage. As a matter of safety and common sense, this situation should never happen to anyone! I am formally requesting that the owner of this boat marina make it a company policy to never deliver a customer a boat with no gas in the tank. If it had not been for my family coming out into the water in the middle of the severe lightning storm just before I was about to hit a seawall, I could have lost my life and our boat. Today I was delivered a boat that was on empty. We have stored all the boats with Pioneer every winter all of those years and every year have asked them to fill the gas tank prior to delivery each summer. My father purchased three separate Harris pontoons from Pioneer, the last one being in 2014 before his death five years ago. My father and I have been loyal customers of this marina for at least 17 years. The marina failed to leave me with any gas in the tank and I was left dead in the water in the middle of the storm. Today I almost lost my life and our pontoon boat because of the the negligence of Pioneer Hills Marine upon delivery of the boat this afternoon prior to a thunderstorm that was on the way. For the record, I had an extensive conversation with the owner afterwards in June and expressed my willingness to consider any offers of goodwill to retain to retain our business. Reposting to remind customers of service issues we experienced this year. ![]()
